Wyndelin Farm is excited to partner with Barteaux Farms to offer a Kids Strawberry Freezer Jam Workshop!  

On Saturday, July 6 your kids can enjoy picking their own strawberries at Barteaux Farms, making their own freezer jam, and enjoying the final product together.  

Each child with go home with 2 jars of their very own strawberry jam.

We’ll make a small hand stitched bag with a basic appliqué that will utilize some simple beginner needlework.

STARTING SEEDS

Wednesday, March 20

Let’s celebrate the first day of spring…

starting seeds together! We’ll make our own pots and have a selection of easy to grow seeds to start. 

BAKING

Thursday, March 21

We’ll learn how to make a simple cracker recipe and make our own hummus dip to go with it (note all ingredients will be gluten-free due to allergy) 

FOREST ADVENTURE

Friday March 22

Let’s go on an expedition!

Experience the beauty of nature with a forest scavenger hunt (all senses required). Discover forest animals (or signs of them), plants, winter sounds and colours.  

Finish with a forest snack.

Time:
5 to 8 year olds – Mornings 10am-12pm
9 to 12 year olds – Afternoons 2pm-4pm

Kids Sewing & Outdoors Skills – March/April 2019

It’s time for a sewing and outdoors workshop series!  This course is a 4 part series offered bi-weekly.

Each week we will split our time between mending/sewing projects and outdoor skills through games and experiences

A snack will be provided. 

Children will need warm outdoor wear for each class. The outdoor portion of the classes will be subject to change based on the weather.

  • Patching continued & Hand stitching project: Potholder
  •  Sap collection & Maple Syrup Making 

Week 3

  •  Clothing/Stuffie Mending & Repairs (children can bring their own items from home)
  • Forest navigation & basic map following

Week 4

  • Basic embroidery stitches.  Recap mending, buttons, & repairs. 
  •  Fire Starting & Safety
