Our Guest Suites!
Our home is an 1800’s duplex built in the late 1800’s by two brothers. They lived here, just outside Annapolis Royal, and had a large farm that they worked together with their families. It’s far larger than what our family needs so we’ve turned one side of the duplex into two separate suites.
The Front Porch Suite
With an upstairs view of the river, on a small farm, your private suite (bedroom, bath, sitting area) with separate entrance is a great place to base your holiday. The large bedroom with a queen sized bed , bathroom and sitting area are on the second floor with lovely pastoral/river views. There is a second bedroom on the same floor available if booking for three guests (or message me if you’d like both bedrooms made up (additional fee). These rooms are completely separate from our living space in the house.
(Note: this suite doesn’t have a kitchen. Please message me if you’re interested in booking the farmhouse suite that does include a kitchen.)
In addition to your private suite, guests are welcome to enjoy our large shared verandah and yard.
We offer a pass for complimentary swimming at our local outdoor community pool during the summer months. You can enjoy lane swim, public swim or any of the aqua size classes.
Let us know if you’d like to play a board game, cards, scrabble or chess; we’d be happy to share our stash with you.
Our home is on a small working farm with dairy cow, pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, and gardens. If you like, you are welcome to join Dan and Marissa in the daily chores and meeting the animals; please let us know if that’s something you’d like to do. Choring happens early morning and mid evening.
During your stay, as we work and play around the yard, Dan or Marissa are often available to chat or give you tips as you explore the Annapolis Royal area.
The Summer Kitchen Suite
Our charming suite (with kitchen) in our unique farmhouse duplex. Enjoy a peaceful getaway on our small farm and take day trips to experience all there is to see and do in the Annapolis Valley! Five minutes outside of Annapolis Royal.
Your small suite has a separate entrance, a small complete kitchen and a bright and cozy dining/living room on the main floor.
On the second level, you’ll find the fresh, peaceful bedroom getaway with a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with a restored antique claw foot tub (no standing shower) Note: the tub and sink are in the bedroom with the toilet “closet” just off bedroom. One large window has a view of the forest and pond whilst the “church” window looks out over fruit trees and a small garden.
I would suggest this suite as perfect for a couple or for folks who are very comfortable sharing a space with each other.
There is a second bedroom with a single bed that may be available upon request.
It’s also possible to rent both this suite and the farmhouse suite together. Message me for a discounted rate.
***heated for cold weather use***
There is a designated parking space, your complete suite has a separate entrance with a small porch and you’re welcome to relax on the shared front verandah and wander the yard and gardens. We can also direct you to the maintained cycling path along the river which is a gorgeous place for a morning run or evening stroll.
During your stay with us, please feel free to gather herbs or greens from the garden and let us know if you’d like some farm fresh eggs, we’re happy to share!
Should you wish to wash a load of laundry, you are welcome to use our laundry room and wash line (please give me advance notice before you’d like to use it.)
Please don’t enter any of the animal pens without Dan or Marissa.
Notes for Everyone!
While you visit our little farm there are some great perks that you can enjoy regardless of which suite you choose….
Our guest suite’s are completely pet free but our family space is shared with Penny, our friendly 120lb Bernese Mountain Dog, and our cats Tutti, and Mini.
As tranquil as our farm can occasionally be, you will also hear the joyful sounds of our children swinging in the trees, swimming in the pond, and all the other fun things that go along with being kids in the country. We strive to keep their happy noise to a dull roar in the early morning hours.
